Puerto de la Cruz lies in the North of Tenerife, approximately one and a quarter hours journey from the Southern airport and twenty minutes from the Northern airport. It is centrally-located for walks in the Orotava valley, the Teno and Anaga mountains and the Teide National Park, all of which are within 50 minutes and one hour 15 minutes drive away.
Walkers are collected from the centre of Puerto at 09.30 and from La Paz at 09.40 on Saturdays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, using our professionally driven private coach. On Sundays there is the option to walk the Masca Gorge, providing there is a minimum of eight persons (required for the boat). Cost is 43€, payable locally.
One of the most delightful aspects of staying in Puerto is that there is so much to see and do. There are museums, Botanical Gardens, the Orchard/Rose gardens and Loro Park. There's a whole choice of live music within the local bars and restaurants in addition to high quality classical concerts in various hotels ( and now concerts by the Tenerife Symphony orchestra and other world-renown orchestras in the Auditorio, in Santa Cruz). After a pleasant dinner in one of the many restaurants, everyone seems to assemble in Plaza de Charco to watch the world go by and to relax in the warm, well lit atmosphere.
